>>> THE 5 STEPS OF THE SHINING WALL PROJECT: From Mt-Blanc to Gasherbrum IV
1 > ROYAL SEQUENCE / MONT BLANC MASSIF
MONT BLANC MASSIF

Our goal for winter 2006 is to climb a trio of the most beautiful
summits of the Mont-Blanc mountain range.

This sequence will take us up the north face of the Aiguille Verte,
the north face of the Grandes Jorasses and the north face of the
Grand Pilier d’Angle.

During this expedition we will be moving from bivouac to refuge
until we reach the last summit. This triple summit challenge is
more than just extensive training, it wil have been a pretty
grueling achievement.

MOOSE'S TOOTH FACE / ALASKA
 2 > MOOSE'S TOOTH FACE / ALASKA

During the spring of 2006, we aim to open a new route on
one of the most radical faces of the Denali Mountains (Mc
Kinley).
We will be climbing non-stop in two rotating teams of two
climbers. The second team will be made up of Christophe
Moulin and Yann Bonneville.
In a region that is prone to heavy storms, we will have
meteorological experts on hand to help us choose the best
conditions possible for the climb.

 3/ OBJECTIVE: 7000 / MENLUNGTSE / HIMALAYA, TIBET
MENLUNGTSE / HIMALAYA, TIBET

In the autumn of 2006, our adventure will take us even higher
with our first attempt at a 7000m summit. The face, which is
most likely to be in Nepal, will be chosen based on it’s technical
level and esthetic value. This will be our hardest challenge on the
training run with a very technical route at high altitude.
The acclimatisation stage of this challenge will be open to our
less experienced friends, which will be a great opportunity for
them to conquer a 6000m summit.

THE DECALOGY / LES ECRINS MASSIF

4/ THE DECALOGY / LES ECRINS MASSIF

In the spring of 2007 we will start our ‘decalogy’: the
traverse of Les Ecrins Massif from north to south,
taking on various world-renowned routes.
This challenge will include ten north faces, including
La Meije and the Dôme de Neige.

5/ SHINING WALL / KARAKORUM, PAKISTAN
SHINING WALL / KARAKORUM, PAKISTAN

Last but not least, the west-face of the Gasherbrum IV, with a
summit of 7920m. This will be our first look at the ‘Shining Wall’.
The 2500m-long marble face is the ‘big daddy’of all of our
adventures and the culmination of all the experience gained
from our previous expeditions.
Our success will be dependant on a well trained team,
physically, mentally and technically at its best along with an
experienced support team. The greatest key to the success of
this expedition will be the long lasting and deep friendship
between the climbers, which has already proven to survive
some of the most dangerous challenges and which is fed by a
desire and passion to discover new worlds.
